A Simple Daily Skincare Routine for Bangladesh's Hot, Humid Weather
Oct 13, 2026 . Zovroze Team
If you live in Dhaka, Chattogram or anywhere in Bangladesh, you know the feeling: you step outside, and within ten minutes your face is shiny, sticky and covered in a thin layer of dust. Many people respond by skipping skincare altogether, or by using harsh products that strip the skin.
The good news is that a good routine for humid weather doesn't need ten steps. It needs the right few steps, done consistently.
Why humid weather changes your skincare needs
High humidity means your skin loses less water to the air, so you usually need less heavy moisturizer than people in dry climates. At the same time, heat increases sweat and oil, and city pollution sticks to that oil. The result: clogged pores, dullness and breakouts.
So the goal is simple: cleanse gently, hydrate lightly, and protect every day.
Your morning routine (5 minutes)
1. Gentle cleanser
Wash with a mild, low-foam cleanser and lukewarm water. Avoid very hot water — it feels refreshing but triggers more oil later.
2. Toner or hydrating mist (optional)
A toner with rose water or aloe vera can calm the skin and add a light layer of hydration. Skip anything with a strong alcohol smell.
3. Lightweight moisturizer
Choose a gel or water-based moisturizer. Yes, even oily skin needs moisture — when skin is dehydrated, it often produces more oil to compensate.
4. Sunscreen
This is the step most people skip, and the one that matters most. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher, even on cloudy days and during monsoon. Reapply if you're outdoors for long periods.
Your night routine (5–10 minutes)
1. Double cleanse
Dust, sweat and sunscreen build up over the day. First remove makeup and sunscreen with a cleansing oil or micellar water, then follow with your regular cleanser.
2. Treat
This is where you can add a serum for your specific concern — for example, niacinamide for oil control and pores, or vitamin C for dullness. Start with one active product at a time.
3. Moisturize
At night you can use a slightly richer moisturizer, since you're not dealing with sun and sweat.
Weekly extras
Exfoliate 1–2 times a week with a gentle scrub or mild exfoliating product. More than that can irritate skin.
Use a clay mask once a week — multani mati (Fuller's earth) is a classic choice for absorbing excess oil.
Change your pillowcase every few days. It collects oil and bacteria.
Common mistakes to avoid
Washing your face too many times a day (twice is enough; rinse with water after heavy sweating)
Using a heavy cream in peak summer
Skipping sunscreen because "it's not sunny"
Trying five new products in the same week
The bottom line
Healthy skin in Bangladesh's climate comes from consistency, not complexity. Start with the four morning steps and three night steps above, give your skin three to four weeks to adjust, and adjust from there.
